Dressed as the intergalactic crew from their new favorite movie, Planet Protection Patrol, Lincoln and his friends are ready to trick or treat. But things take an eerie turn when people around Royal Woods start disappearing.

The title is named after the Steven Spielberg film Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Lori and Leni's cat costumes resemble Cat Noir from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (which, oddly enough, used to air on Nickelodeon).
The Planet Protection Patrol is similar to Guardians of the Galaxy:
- Commander Nick Fox is a spoof on Star Lord.
- Tech Sargent Cronk is similar to Gamora as both are the only females of the team.
- Trunk is similar to Groot in appearance.
- Deputy Dream Dude acts similar to Drax the Destroyer.
- Both Dr. Mucus and Lieutenant Blorp share Rocket Raccoon's role due to the former being the smartest and the latter in charge of most of the weapons.
