Early History[]
According to legend, Cornfield Clem was a scarecrow brought to life by a witch who was run out of town, cursed to haunt the town every year at Halloween time.

Abner had previously stolen money and buried it in an open field, only to return to discover the field had grown into a massive cornfield. He used the legend to keep people away from the corn maze while he searched for his stolen money.
