Queen Elena Castillo Flores of Avalor is the titular protagonist of the Disney animated series, Elena of Avalor. She is the oldest daughter of King Raul and Queen Lucia and the current Queen of Avalor. She appeared in the Halloween specials "A Day to Remember", "The Jewel of Maru", and "Flower of Light", and According to the song "Festival of Love", Día de los Muertos, another equivilant of our own Halloween, is her favorite day of all time, where everyone honors all their loved ones who have passed away. Elena was born to the late King Raul and Queen Lucia of Avalor. She resides within the kingdom's castle alongside her family, consisting of her sister Isabel, maternal grandparents Francisco and Luisa, as well as her scheming maternal cousin, Esteban. She is additionally accompanied by a trio of comedic, flying jaquins that double as her friends and mode of transportation, as well as the wise spirit fox Zuzo, whom only she can see on her own free will, as a result of her magical abilities. Later, when she turned fifteen, she has the Amulet of Avalor as a gift, that would protect her from harm. But when Shuriki invaded Avalor, and killed Raul and Lucia, she ended up trapped inside the amulet when Shuriki tried to strike her down. 41 years later, princess Sofia the First, was able to free Elena from the Amulet. It was finally her time to back back her kingdom. with the help of Mateo, and Sofia, who released her royal family from jail, She rescued her little sister, Isabel, and Grandparents from an Enchanted Painting, gathered the citizens of Avalor, and defeated Shuriki once and for all. With Avalor free once more, Elena became crown princess, and must learn how to be one, until she becomes queen.
