"Great Lakes Freakout!" is the second Halloween episode of the Nickelodeon animated series The Loud House, produced as the 21st episode of the show's sixth season. As its title suggests, it is a crossover with the spin-off, The Casagrandes.
Synopsis[]
Lori and Lincoln go to Great Lakes City on Halloween, with the former looking forward to having a Halloween date with Bobby, wearing the scarecrow costumes that Lynn Sr. and Rita wore on their first Halloween date, and the latter looking forward to trick-or-treating with Ronnie Anne. When they arrive, however, Ronnie Anne explains to Lincoln that her family is busy trying to get the mercado ready for a storefront decorating contest that Ernesto Estrella is judging, with the grand prize being that he stars in a commercial for the winning store. Unfortunately, Sergio had a wild party in the mercado and ruined the decorations. Lincoln realizes that Lucy could help with the decorations, so Bobby convinces his girlfriend to drive back to Royal Woods to get her.
After Lori returns with Lucy, who has also brought Boris with her, Carlota is stressed about making everyone's Halloween costumes, so Lincoln suggests that Lori go get Leni for help. While Lori is doing that, Vito informs Hector that Margarita's salon is giving out scary hairdos, and the Neighborhood Cats almost interfere. Lori returns with Leni, as well as Lisa, who came along because none of the other Loud sisters wanted to hear her spouting facts about Halloween. Carlos, however, is interested in exchanging facts, so Lisa goes to assist him. Lincoln then asks Lori to go recruit Lana to tame the street cats, much to Lori's annoyance. Soon after, Leni and Carlota have begun making the kids' zombie costumes, while Lori returns with Lana, who manages to not only easily tame the cats, but also rounds up some tarantulas for "a little extra scare." Vito then informs Hector that Mr. Hong has scarier decorations at his store, so Lincoln suggests Lucy to summon a ghost to help. Lucy is reluctant to do so, considering the last time she and the Morticians Club summoned a ghost, but Carl and Hector convince her and Boris to do so.
As night falls, Lucy performs a séance; unfortunately, the ghost who arrives is Buzz, the same ghost who caused the Morticians Club so much trouble several episodes ago. Hector promises Buzz that he can have anything from the mercado if he helps them. Buzz initially agrees, but after he sees Mr. Hong's Korean barbecue, he decides to help Mr. Hong in the contest instead. Carl then finds Lucy's spell book and decides that they should summon another ghost to help. He, Bobby, and Hector set up a new séance, but Carl reads the wrong spell, instead ultimately summoning zombies who emerge from underground and start walking around the city. The three Casagrandes are unsure how they can recapture the zombies, and Carl does not want Lucy to find out that he used her spell book without permission.
Carl, Bobby, and Hector drive around in the mercado van, capturing as many zombies as they can. However, just when they think they've got them all, one particularly muscular zombie pushes them out of the way and steals the van. Meanwhile, Lincoln, Leni, Lucy, Boris, Ronnie Anne, Carlota, and CJ have been trick-or-treating when they suddenly encounter the zombies themselves. After fleeing in terror from the zombies, the trick-or-treaters bump into Carl, Bobby, and Hector. Upon hearing Lincoln mention the zombies, Carl has no choice but to confess that he used Lucy's spell book (Boris: "You should really put a lock on that"). Lucy figures that there's one way they can regather all the zombies - have them come after the two biggest brains in the city.
Back at the mercado, the group has Carlos and Lisa recite Halloween facts into microphones and speakers, transmitting their voices across the city and attracting the zombies back to the store. But before Lucy can recite the spell to send the zombies back underground, one of them rips out the page with the spell. Just as they are about to be eaten, however, Rosa comes in with her horchata, which she has been trying to perfect throughout the whole episode. When she feeds it to one of the zombies, it disintegrates, giving everyone the clue that the zombies are allergic to the volcanic vanilla included in the horchata. All the kids fill their water blasters with Rosa's horchata and start blasting it at the zombies. During the battle, Lori returns with her scarecrow costume (she had to drive back to Royal Woods again because she forgot the costume's straw wig), leading Bobby to realize that he forgot about their date. Fortunately, after he saves her from one of the zombies, she is touched about him coming to her rescue and joins in the battle.
After the zombies are finally beaten, Ernesto Estrella arrives at the mercado and is appalled by how messy the place looks. Hector gives him a mouthful of Rosa's horchata, and although he compliments the meal, Ernesto is still unimpressed with the store and says that he will go declare Mr. Hong the winner. However, when Boris offers to get the door for him, Ernesto finds him to be the scariest thing he's seen all night and retracts his previous statement, declaring the Casagrandes to be the contest winners. Sometime later, we see the Casagrandes watching the TV commercial that Ernesto filmed with them, and Hector says they should start thinking of what they can do to win next year's decorating contest. Carl shows them that Lucy left her spell book behind and finds a spell for summoning witches, despite his family's objections.

Trivia[]
- Lori drives back and forth between Royal Woods and Great Lakes City a total of nine times in this episode. Previous episodes have established that it takes at least three hours to drive from Royal Woods (the Louds' hometown) to Great Lakes City (the current hometown of Bobby, Ronnie Anne and the Casagrandes) -- this would mean that Lori spent 27 total hours driving in this episode, a far longer amount of time than this episode appears to be set in.
- When Lori arrives with Lucy and Boris, Leni appears in place of Lori before Lori drives back to get her.
