— Lynn Sr. throughout "Tricked!" |
Lynn Loud, Sr. is the father of Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters on the Nickelodeon animated series The Loud House. He is a stern father figure and the namesake of his his fifth-oldest daughter. Lynn Sr. will often step in to call a halt to his kids' fights, but he loves and cares about them, and sometimes takes part in their antics for fun. He is quite skilled at cooking, to the point that, in the show's second season, he left his IT job as an information technologist to pursue his dream job of becoming a full-time chef. After working as a co-chef at the Aloha Comrade fusion restaurant, he opened his own restaurant, Lynn's Table, at the end of the show's third season.
Appearances in Halloween specials[]
The Loud House[]
In the animated series' first Halloween special, "Tricked!", it is shown that Lynn Sr. is not at all fond of Halloween, as he is constantly frightened by the ghastly decorations Lucy has left around the house. This of course proves to cause him great distress when he has to take his younger kids trick-or-treating. He ends up fainting during the trek and has to be wheeled around in a wagon for the rest of the evening. He does not wake up until the very end of the episode, and as a result is never aware of the bullies Hank and Hawk vandalizing his neighborhood and stealing everyone's candies, or of his wife Rita and their kids teaming up to scare the bullies as revenge.
Likely due to his disdain for the holiday, Lynn Sr. does not appear in person in the series' second Halloween special, "Great Lakes Freakout!" However, he is shown in a photo of himself and Rita dressed as scarecrows on their first Halloween date, with Lori and Bobby planning on recreating the costumes. According to the cartoon's next Halloween episode, he and Rita were dressed as zombie newlyweds during this episode's events.
Lynn Sr.'s latest Halloween-related appearance was in "Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind". This episode has him and Rita dressing as a two-headed monster for the family's haunted house; as a result, he is feeling much better about the holiday than usual, due to having his wife close to his side all through the special. However, this doesn't save him and his family from being abducted by the aliens who have invaded Royal Woods.
The Really Loud House[]
To date, Lynn Sr.'s most prominent Halloween appearance is in the live-action movie A Really Haunted Loud House. Due to Lynn Jr.'s attempts to rack up more scares than Lucy this year, Lynn Sr. has gone sleepless for three days in fear of her presence. On Halloween, he accidentally cuts himself with a necklace supposedly made up of the teeth of the ancient werewolf Romulus, and becomes convinced he is turning into a werewolf. After developing cravings for meat, he seals himself in the basement to protect his family, but that night, he discovers hair on his body, dons clawed gloves, accidentally sees the full moon, and gets fur from a beanbag glued all over his body, completing his werewolf "transformation". Later, Rita finds him in the basement, where he has adopted the mindset and behavior of a werewolf and sends him on an errand to collect candy to save the Spooktacular. Unfortunately, his lycanthropic behavior causes him to be hunted around town by Zach, Rusty, Liam, and Stella. Eventually, he learns that he isn't really becoming a werewolf when his wife and daughters find him on their way to save Lincoln and Clyde from the crusher at the junkyard. Upon learning that his son is in danger, Lynn Sr. momentarily drops his fear and uses his werewolf "costume" to scare off Xander's mob of followers.
