Offer Errings is a Halloween-themed episode segment of the Christian-oriented, animated series, Whirl.
Plot[]
At a church Halloween party, Victor scams the other party guests into giving away free candy to him so he can keep it all for himself.
Synopsis[]
There's a Halloween party taking place at First Second Church. Ada comments on how everybody looks great in their costumes, Jax simply says, "Halloween!", Tot howls, as she's dressed as a wolf or werewolf, and Otto, who's dressed as a vampire, says, "I want to suck your blood!". When Jax heads over to the Bobbing for Apples area, Leo asks if he'd like to play. Jax instantly gobbles up all the apples that were in the pool. Surprised and impressed at the same time, he tells him he won forever and hands him a ribbon as his prize. Clara tries pinning the tail on a paper black cat, but misses the position where the tail is supposed to be pinned, pinning its face instead and Mimi announces that everyone gets free candy, giving it away by tossing it around. Tot hits the Spooky Pinata and manages to break it as candy falls out of it. Observing all of this, Victor notices that there's a lot of treating going on, but no tricking. He devises a scheme to trick the other partygoers into giving away their candy. As Clara and Monty pass through where Victor is, he gets Clara's attention, startling her. He tells her how she has an awful lot of candy and asks if she's going to give any of hers away. Perplexed, she asks what he's talking about and he explains that God would like for her to give away her candy (though it's really for him). When she asks if that's so, he says yes as that's what Pastor Pete mentioned in his sermon. Frightened about the consequences of not obeying, Clara relents and runs away screaming. Then, Victor tells Monty the same thing but says he should give away two bags of his candy. Monty says God drives a hard bargain and also relents. Ada has little candy, as she tells Victor that's all she has. He has Otto taken away, but she begs to give her a chance to get more as she do anything like go door-to-door. When Leo approaches Victor, who's now on a pile of bags of candy he collected, he asks him what he's doing. Victor asks him if he has an offering, Leo asks what that offering is, and Victor mentions candy to please God. Leo tells him that's not true about what God wants or would want. Victor tries to convince the others not to listen to "this false prophet". Leo says that offering isn't worth it unless it comes from the heart and that's really what God wants, not that it's done for anyone's self. When Monty asks Leo if God doesn't want Him to give away candy to Him after all, Leo replies, "No". Monty takes back one of his candy bags from the bottom of the pile. The pile begins rumbling and gulping, Victor says "this could hurt". The pile collapses and he falls down along with it, getting caught under the bags and he concludes with, "Yep, it did".
