Pac-Man is the protagonist from the Namco video game series of the same name. He is a happy-go-lucky and fun-loving round yellow creature with a voracious appetite, who enjoys adventure but often prefers a quiet family life. Since his introduction in the 1980 arcade game Pac-Man, the character has appeared in more than 30 officially licensed game spin-offs and has spawned a variety of merchandise with his image, as well as two animated television series.
In most appearances, Pac-Man is typically portrayed as a family man, married to Ms. Pac-Man and having either one or two children (in the Hanna-Barbera animated series, they had a baby son, while later games had them raising a preteen son and a baby daughter). By contrast, the alternate continuity depicted in the animated series Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures features a teenaged Pac-Man, better known by his civilian name Pac (with the Pac-Man name being a legacy title he inherited from his father, Zac), who attends high school with his friends Cylindria and Spiral.
