Snoopy is a character from the long-running comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. He is Charlie Brown's pet beagle. Snoopy began his life in the strip as a fairly conventional dog, but eventually evolved into perhaps the strip's most dynamic character — and among the most recognizable comic characters in the world. The original drawings of Snoopy were "slightly patterned" after Spike, one of Schulz's childhood dogs (and the namesake of one of Snoopy's brothers).
Appearances in Halloween specials[]
- It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown - In the famous 1966 animated special, Snoopy takes on his role as a World War I flying ace, on a mission to find the Red Baron and shoot him down, which he ultimately fails to do. Later, after sneaking around Violet Gray's Halloween party, he rises out of the pumpkin patch and Linus believes him to be the Great Pumpkin faints when he sees him while Sally watches him quietly with a glare as he stares at them for a few seconds then ducks back down.
