Twilight Sparkle is the main protagonist of the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and related media. She is a lavender unicorn pony who later becomes an alicorn at the end of the show's third season. After the events of the two-part pilot episode, Twilight moves from Canterlot to Ponyville in order to continue the study of friendship under Princess Celestia's guidance, and regularly maintains correspondence with the Princess. Twilight studies extensively and takes an organized, analytical approach to solving problems. She sometimes has insecurities about fitting in, and can often let her fears, insecurities, her desire to impress Princess Celestia, and her logical way of thinking distract her, which sometimes leads to near madness or, in one case, chaos. Unlike other unicorn ponies, Twilight can perform a wide variety of magic, including teleportation, force fields, and telekinesis. She represents the Element of Magic, which takes the form of a tiara.
Appearances in Halloween specials[]
In "Luna Eclipsed", she dresses as a wizard named Star Swirl the Bearded and shows Princess Luna about the true meaning of Nightmare Moon (the show's equivalent of Halloween).
In "Scare Master", she is seen dressed as a gladiator for Nightmare Night and, along with the rest of the Mane Six, help Fluttershy celebrate the holiday for the first time.
